The oldest date back to the early 16th century and are adorned with their owners\u2019 coats of arms. The commune of Verneuil has a collection of 57 boundary stones. Whilst these are certainly less prestigious than the stones bearing coats of arms, they nevertheless form a cohesive group dating from the late 18th century.\n\nA meticulous search for these boundary stones in the field, their geolocation, and the study of archives\u2014particularly old maps and plans\u2014have made it possible to determine their origin and understand their purpose.
