Description
Exceptionally accessible during the European Heritage Days, discover the natural site of Les Pointes in the company of those involved in its preservation.
«Les pointes» is part of the Marais de Sacy departmental estate.
They form the western part of the site and cover an area of over 60 ha of marshland organised around the Frette and «petite Frette» streams. Former peat mining operations have significantly altered the site, which presents a mosaic of original vegetation including elements of alkaline peat bogs with Cladion marisque and common reed, as well as calcicolous grasslands and heaths, such as the verges with common polygale and willow-leaved willowherb.
Thanks to the European LIFE programme, major restoration work has restored the wide marsh landscapes of yesteryear. We invite you to come and discover them during the 2025 European Heritage Days: register now!
Good shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended!
