Bees fascinate, amaze... and today, they are a cause for concern. At a special conference organised by L'Agrion de l'Oise, Michel Guillerault-Bonnet, a passionate beekeeper from Avilly Saint-Léonard, invites you to discover the intimate life of a beehive. It's a captivating experience, but also a wake-up call. You'll discover a fascinating society: that of the bees. It all begins with the birth of a queen, fed exclusively on royal jelly. Then comes her spectacular nuptial flight, during which she mates with several males - the drones - dedicated to a single reproductive act before dying. The queen then becomes the pillar of the colony: she ensures reproduction, diffuses pheromones that regulate social organisation and guarantees the survival of the hive. Without her, everything collapses. You'll witness the swarming, that magical moment when the old queen flies off with part of the colony to found a new home, leaving behind a young queen ready to take over. Finally, you'll discover the incredible destiny of the workers, the true heroes of the hive, who carry out a whole range of jobs - nannies, builders, guardians, foragers - to the point of exhaustion, always at the service of the community. But this talk will also highlight the dangers that bees face today. You'll come away amazed by the ingenuity of bees, but also aware of the urgent need to protect them.
