Discover Moncel Abbey, the charms of the Halatte forest, the royal town of Senlis and the Ermenonville forest on this gentle 30km route, which is ideal for beginners. Through the Halatte forest, Pontpoint and the royal city of Senlis are just a few pedal strokes away. Between the village of Villemétrie and the border with the Ile-de-France region, you're guaranteed a change of scenery as the route winds its way through a forest that bears many similarities to that of the Landes. Pines, heather and large sandy outcrops were the impetus for the creation of one of the first amusement parks in the Oise region... La Mer de Sable. To discover it and to visit the Royal Abbey of Chaalis, the Jacquemart André Museum and the Jean-Jacques Rousseau Park, you'll have to pedal your way out of the woods. The route alternates between minor roads and forest paths. From the Royal Abbey of Moncel in Pont-Sainte-Maxence, the route will be shared with the London-Paris Avenue Verte as far as Senlis. Thereafter, specific EV3 signposting will be in place as far as Ver-sur-Launette. Watch out for the steep climb after the church at Poinpoint to reach the forest! South of Senlis, a temporary diversion is possible because the route crosses an army firing range: follow the proposed diversion. Smooth and rough surface: stabilised and bitumen. Some farm tracks with rustic surfaces.
